Plenty of resorts across Los Cabos -- the region on the southernmost tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula -- claim luxury status. These seven hotels are the rare few that truly deliver on that promise. Take a look at the top luxury hotels in Los Cabos, Mexico.
ONE & Only Palmilla
The One&Only Palmilla is easily one of the most luxurious resorts not only in Cabo, but in Mexico. Every single feature here has an upscale touch to it, from the wonderful restaurants (including a steak house by Jean-Georges Vongerichten) to the two gorgeous pools, from the velvet-gloved treatment to the stunner of a spa, which is crafted from a seemingly endless amount of stone. The 160 rooms and villas are nothing less than lavish, with contemporary and traditional Mexican accents, massive bathrooms, and high-tech amenities. The included extras -- such as luggage unpacking, daily snacks delivered to rooms, and an aromatherapy turndown menu -- put this resort at the top of our list.
ESPERANZA, an Auberge Resort
This luxurious resort is one of the nicest in Los Cabos, and offers more of a home-y vibe than other high-end properties in the area. The 123 hacienda-inspired casitas and villas are rustic, bright, and refined, with romantic extras like bathrooms with side-by-side showers and separate soaking tubs. Free baskets of fruit are available, as are Nespresso machine, minibars, large flat-screen TVs with media hubs, free Wi-Fi, and tablets that connect to concierges and porters. The hotel has a gourmet restaurant, an elegant spa and large fitness center, a beautiful main infinity pool, and stunning ocean views available from almost everywhere, though note that the beaches aren't swimmable (an issue throughout Los Cabos).
THE RESORT AT PEDREGAL
The 118-room Resort at Pedregal -- set on a long sweep of beach at the base of towering mountains -- is so exclusive that reaching it requires driving through a private tunnel. The style here seamlessly blends modern design and local artisanal details. Rooms have gorgeous hardwood accents plus massive bathrooms and terraces with hot tubs, and select casitas open to the ocean with private pools and fire pits. Oceanside dining and locally sourced menus are highlights, as are the infinity pools overlooking the beach. There are also an organic spa, a modern gym, and a posh boutique, but sadly, the ocean here isn't swimmable.
THE CAPE HOTEL, a THOMPSON HOTEL
True to this high-end brand's reputation, The Cape, a Thompson Hotel is arguably one of the swankiest hotels in Cabo San Lucas. The 161 rooms vary greatly, but all have a sharp look plus luxury amenities including spacious glass-enclosed bathrooms, ocean-view balconies or terraces, in-room cocktail bars, and (optional) private hot tubs. Many include services like butlers and and in-villa check-in. The property has two pools, an excellent surfer's beach, a world-class Mexican restaurant, and a breathtaking spa, it's unlikely guests will find much to fuss over. However, the secluded location away from town may dissuade some guests, though that's just what others are looking for.
LE BLANC RESORT AND SPA LOS CABOS
Located in beautiful Los Cabos where the desert meets the sea, Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos provides the ultimate luxurious all inclusive experience. If you're looking for rest and relaxation, visit the state-of-the-art Blanc Spa for pampering and restorative spa treatments, where you can enjoy a replenishing facial or a lavish couple's massage. Sip on a refreshing cocktail from the two swim-up bars with snack service, or head to the Blanc Beach Bar and enjoy a drink with your toes in the sand. At the end of the night, the luxurious Comfort Menu will ensure you get a perfect night's rest with a speciality pillow menu, bath salts, and aromatherapy scents to choose from to ensure complete and total relaxation.
